Australia Day, 2021. Keep cool and enjoy
Australia Day means many different things and the way we celebrate is as diverse as the people celebrating it. Whichever way you celebrate it, Task Industries wants you to keep your cool and have a great time.
For many, Australia Day is synonymous with friends, BBQs, a few drinks and as it’s the middle of summer, trying to keep cool! And remember, we are only mid-way through, so there are several months yet of unrelenting heat and humidity to come! If the thought of months of hot weather and an air conditioning system that really doesn’t cut-the-mustard anymore, give us a call.
In the meantime, here are a few simple tips that will ensure you have a chilled Australia Day.
The (Swimming) Pool
Okay, so not all of us have a swimming pool, and a BBQ at the local public pool is not an appealing one, but a blow-up option or a paddling pool for the kids can also do the job of bringing down your body temperature on a hot day. Whether you just enjoy lazing around or prefer pool games, there are few better ways to keep cool on Australia Day. If you find the heat too much to bear and there’s a pool nearby, take a dip.
A Cold Drink
As Australians one of our favourite ways to demonstrate our patriotism by cracking a freezing cold beer. This may be something of a cliché, but it’s hard to deny that beers and a BBQ are synonymous with our national day. It’s a fact; you can’t go past a cool drink as a method of staying cool on a hot day, just make sure that there’s a plentiful supply of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages available. And don’t forget the ice and an Esky, too!
The Cool Indoors
Unless you’re at an official Australia Day function, you always have the simple option of heading indoors if the heat really becomes too much for you to handle. Not all of us have a pool, but most of us have air conditioning and given the hot and humid Queensland climate, it makes sense.
If you don’t have air conditioning or your current system needs replacing, then get in touch. It’s an investment that will not only provide you with relief on an unbearably hot Australia Day but all summer long.
In the meantime, enjoy your Australia Day, no matter how you spend it.
